Who is Writeousbabe?

Javacia Harris Bowser is Writeousbabe.
I’m a Birmingham, Ala.-based blogger and freelance journalist who is always looking to take on new projects.
I've worked as a lifestyles and entertainment reporter for Velocity Weekly and its parent publication The Courier-Journal in Louisville, Ky. Throughout my career -- thanks to full-time jobs, freelance work, and internships -- I have written on topics ranging from fashion, art, and music to trucking, healthcare, and autocross racing. My passions, however, are fitness, natural hair, social media, and women's issues.
Here I talk about all things writing -- tips and motivation for writers as well as updates of what's going on in my own writing life. My primary blog is GeorgiaMae.com, which is named for my amazing grandmother.
I’m a graduate of the University of Alabama (Roll Tide!), where I studied journalism and English/creative writing. I then went on to get a very expensive master's degree in journalism from University of California, Berkeley. I'm holding on to hope that it will one day pay for itself. (It will, right?)
When I'm not writing, I'm usually searching for great Mexican food or cupcakes or I'm at the gym trying to burn off Mexican food and cupcakes.
