Welcome

Welcome to my blog! Come on in, take a look around, and make yourself at home. I would offer you a cold glass of lemonade or sweet tea, but I can’t, since this is, you know, a blog.

I, Javacia Harris Bowser, hang out online here, here, and here, but this, I’ve decided, will be my online home.

Originally, the tagline for this blog was going to be “The GeorgiaMae.com sister site for beauty, fashion, and fitness.” But that didn’t quite cut it. While I am a natural hair enthusiast, a fashion fanatic, and a fitness freak, above all I am a writer. That’s why I started blogging in the first place. The best way to sum up who I am and what I do is this: “I have some stories. I want to look good while I share them.”

The purpose of this blog is three-fold: 1) to chronicle my attempt to make my writing dreams come true while working a full-time job (I’m a high school English teacher) and in the most unlikeliest of places (I live in the Deep South),  2) to explore my attempt to be fit and fabulous while I’m making those dreams come true, and 3) to share stories, advice, and ideas to help other authors, bloggers, and journalists make their writing dreams come true as well.

This blog may seem as if it is designed particularly for women because I’m a chick (and unapologetically so); I even started a networking group for women writers in my town called See Jane Write. But Y-chromosome carriers, you are more than welcome here as long as you can handle the estrogen that might start oozing from your computer screen.

Thanks for stopping by!
